This time each year I find myself craving a cabin escape, somewhere away from Los Angeles, surrounded by trees. There’s nothing better than packing up all your sweaters and getting cozy at a cabin in the woods once the weather starts cooling down. With all the extra time spent at home the past 7 months, my cabin craving is as strong as ever! Airbnb is always my go-to for beautiful, unique places to stay, so I wanted to share with you 10 cozy California cabins I have on my wishlist right now.
THE COBB HOUSE (Cobb, California)
Located at the end of a quiet dirt road of a rural neighborhood, this cabin is nestled in the dogwood trees with a beautiful deck and an outdoor shower! There are lots of activities right outside the door, but this is also the perfect retreat to stay in and relax. It offers one large open common space as well as a bedroom and living room with amazing tree views - feels like you're in a treehouse!
2. DREAMY A-FRAME CABIN IN THE WOODS (Idyllwild-Pine Cove, California)
Within walking distance from the center of town, this cabin is perfectly situated on a quiet street amongst the trees, buzzing with blue jays and hummingbirds. Curl up by the fireplace and enjoy surround-sound tunes, or grill some bbq after hitting the nearby trails. This space was designed for romantic getaways and creative retreats.
3. THE KITCHY CABIN (Big Bear, California)
The perfect cabin for your mountain getaway! Minutes from Snow Summit and Big Bear Blvd, this luxurious Mid Century cabin has all of the features for your ultimate weekend away. With soaring A-frame ceilings, a master suite with attached balcony for morning coffee among the tree tops, a cozy game room, open chef's kitchen, and large hot tub - you just might stay curled up by the fire instead of hitting the trails or the slopes.

5. THE OWL PINE (Idyllwild-Pine Cove, California)
I had the pleasure of staying here myself a couple years ago! The owners have created a wonderful cabin sanctuary, and the attention to detail is impeccable. The property covers 2 acres of land on Strawberry Creek, and right outside the cabin's front door is a beautiful forest filled with boulders, pine, oak, cedar, fir, redwood, manzanita, holly, and more. There’s a a path along Strawberry Creek that takes you right into town, perfect for hiking.
6. CABIN RETREAT IN WINE COUNTRY (Templeton, California)
Such a romantic cabin, completely renovated and tucked away in the rolling hills of Paso Robles wine country. A peaceful setting with views of famous wineries and rolling hay fields. If you’re looking to be near wineries, this is the place to stay. The owners even supply a complementary s'more kit during your stay!
7. LITTLE JO CABIN (Joshua Tree, California)
Tucked into the northern corner of Joshua Tree where the views are sweeping, Little Jo is a newly renovated 1950’s homesteader that pairs bohemian character with modern desert design. The perfect place to take in desert panoramas and your morning coffee. You don't have to worry about close neighbors with this tranquil location.
8. THE ENCHANTED LOOKOUT (Julian, California)
This two-bedroom, one-bath cabin is just over a mile from the historic town of Julian, yet it’s a private sanctuary with panoramic forest and Volcan Mountain Preserve views. High ceilings, large picture windows, beautifully decorated! The owners recreated the home so that it looks like the historic house it is, yet contains every modern comfort and convenience.

Relax and get away at this beautiful A-frame that combines the peacefulness of a cozy cabin along with easy access to all that Lake Arrowhead has to offer. The cabin is a 5 min walk to the lake (lake passes included) and a beautiful lake path leads you right to the Village. The home has been updated and remodeled whilst still maintaining the original details that make this A-frame so special.
